International Partnership
Together with Ben-Gurion University, Deutsche Telekom established a research and development facility in Beer Sheva, Israel, in 2006.

Global leader in IT security: Israel’s Ben-Gurion University.

Operating under the name Deutsche Telekom Laboratories at Ben-Gurion University, the facility is expanding and intensifying the two organizations’ longstanding partnership. The new institute is a Telekom Laboratories academic affiliate, and Ben-Gurion University is one of the world’s leading higher education institutes for information technology and telecommunications, above all in the area of IT security.

Protecting Networks

Creating secure telecommunications networks is one of the focal points of the R&D institute’s work, examining first and foremost protective measures embedded in the network itself. The research efforts are designed to provide Deutsche Telekom customers with customized, secure operating zones where they can easily use their applications without needing to worry about the details of network security.

Efficient Software

The institute’s second focal point concentrates on organizing different software components distributed across a range of networks quickly and efficiently, in order to adapt them to the customer’s individual business processes.

Complex Technologies Made Simple

Its third focus is on intuitive usability. The aim here is to enable the customer to use complex telecommunications services quickly and easily. In addition to optimizing utilization, the research in this area also integrates new media and terminal devices into telecommunications services.
