Deutsche Telekom Laboratories

Deutsche Telekom, Europe’s leading telecommunications company, is expanding in collaboration with the Technische Universität (TU) Berlin its corporate research and development centre - Deutsche Telekom Laboratories - in Germany’s vibrant capital Berlin.

The Telekom Laboratories are the joint institute of Deutsche Telekom and TU Berlin. Working in cooperation with other universities and industrial partners, it provides a bridge between commerce and science, so as to turn ideas into marketable innovations as quickly as possible. In the Telekom Laboratories experts and scientists from all around the world explore and develop new services and solutions for Telekom customers.

The Telekom Laboratories comprise the Innovation Development Laboratory and the Strategic Research Laboratory. The Innovation Development Laboratory concentrates on five fields of innovation: Intuitive Usability, Integrated Service Components, Intelligent Access, Infrastructure and Inherent Security. The long-term application orientated research takes place in the Strategic Research Laboratory.

The Telekom Laboratories' head office is housed on the campus of the TU Berlin with several research institutes working in various areas of information and communication technology. As a joint venture between a company at the cutting edge of information technology and a leading German research university, Deutsche Telekom Laboratories offers an unprecedented combination of academic freedom, practical focus, and the resources of a major corporation.

Our Strategic Research Laboratory already includes around 90 senior research scientists and doctoral candidates, and has openings for highly qualified

Senior Research Scientists

in the broad areas of

  • Network Security
  • System Security (Access control, SELinux, Virtualization, Micro-kernels, etc.)
  • Hardware Security (Tamper resistance, Side Channel/Micro architectural attacks, Fault attacks, etc.)
  • Computer architectural security enhancements (LT, VT, iAMT, TrustZone, Pacifica, etc.)
  • Secure embedded systems
  • Formal Verification for computer security
  • Applied Cryptography
  • Vulnerability Analysis
  • Secure WS and SOA architectures

Successful applicants will have recently completed a doctoral degree, e.g., in computer science, electrical engineering, or other disciplines related to the areas mentioned, and be enthusiastic about the unique opportunity to conduct leading-edge research with immediate impact on the products and services of a major telecoms company.
