The close connections between business and research are also reflected in the Telekom Laboratories management. The managing director of Telekom Laboratories, Peter Möckel, and the chairman of the Steering Committee, Prof. Wolfgang Wahlster, serve in a dual leadership capacity. Mr. Möckel is in overall organizational control and represents the interests of the Telekom Group directly while Prof. Wahlster is responsible for the institute’s scientific orientation and quality.

Telekom Laboratories is advised, coordinated and monitored by a Steering Committee. Steering Committee members are Prof. Wolfgang Wahlster and Prof. Sahin Albayrak, who represent the academic community, and Peter Möckel, who represents Deutsche Telekom.

The Deutsche Telekom Laboratories management also includes Dr. Heinrich Arnold and Dr. Udo Bub as heads of the Innovation Development Laboratory, along with Klaus J. Buß as director of Finance & Support.

Two professors currently complete the management team on the research side. Prof. Anja Feldmann, who holds a chair in computer science, heads the Intelligent Networks and Management of Distributed Systems research field, and Prof. Sebastian Möller is in charge of the Quality and Usability research field. They are members of the Telekom Laboratories management and professors at the TU Berlin’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
