The SerCHo project researches how, in a domestic environment, a platform-based system can join up the previously separate, individual domestic and network-centric components, making them into an intelligent home network. Personal assistants ensure that the equipment is easy to use. Deutsche Telekom Laboratories developed this solution in cooperation with 8 partners: the DAI laboratory at the Technische Universität Berlin, Alcatel–Lucent Germany AG, Cycos AG, Prosyst Software GmbH, SevenSenses GmbH, Siemens AG, WIK Consult GmbH and the trade association BITKOM.
