At this year’s CeBIT 2008, Deutsche Telekom Laboratories presented a selection of innovative projects to the public. The world’s largest fair for information and communications technology took place from 4th to 9th March 2008, in Hanover.
Under the motto “Your world of tomorrow” Deutsche Telekom’s research & development institute, together with its partners, offered a glimpse into the digital worlds of life and work in the future. On stand B65 in the future parc, the centre for innovations in hall 9, the following exhibits were presented:
Other Telekom Laboratories exhibits included:
- AvatarClip: Animated greeting cards with avatars (hall 26, stand A01, T-Home, betabuzz)
- SerCHo: The intelligent home network of tomorrow. (future parc, stand A25, next generation media)
- MAMS: In future, develop individual services, easily and intuitively. (future parc, stand B40, Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung - the German Ministry for Education and Research)
On 4th March, Deutsche Telekom and Laboratories presentations were also on the programme in future talk (hall 9, stand A30). At the opening event “Smart staff for innovation – a first interim summary of IKT-2020”, amongst others, Christopher Schläffer, Group Product & Innovation Officer for Deutsche Telekom took part. Four presentations from Telekom Laboratories then followed:
- Optimising business processes through the use of an innovative office solution, Hermann Hartenthaler
- From Buses to Mobile Phones: Transferring knowledge in design, Dr. Rosan Chow (in English)
- Uses of an electronic identity card in eGovernment and eCommerce, Dr. Georg Wambach
- Adaptive IT infrastructure to trade in global computing centre capacity, Dr. Behrend Freese
In hall 26, Deutsche Telekom presented solutions for today´s networked life and work. Under the motto “Your world” everything on stand A01 revolved around telecommunication, high-speed Internet and Internet-based applications - for the home, when out and about, and at work.
