In the NetCentric Security project, processes are being developed to provide defence from attacks within the network, protecting private and business customers’ terminal units, server systems and network components. Unique mechanisms classify and analyse the IP traffic payload to detect and block damaging content. Methods will also be developed to provide protection from coordinated attacks on servers (distributed denial of service). This network-centric approach is then complemented by protection mechanisms in the terminal units.
