Using wave field synthesis, a sound field should be reproduced as realistically as possible. Each wave front produced by a source is considered as the sum of an infinite number of single sources. Loudspeakers are used for the individual sources which can be realistically perceived at every position within the listening zone and can be placed within the arrangement of loudspeakers so that the listener can walk around them.
