Research focus areas
In telecommunications, terminal devices and services must be self-explanatory. Our Intuitive Usability research focuses on achieving exactly that level of user-friendliness.

Prof. Sebastian Möller

Headed by Prof. Sebastian Möller, Telekom Laboratories looks into how well and how fast customers are able to work with new communications services and products. “Our main concern is whether users are satisfied with a service or product,” Möller says.

Simple and Self-explanatory

Customer behavior determines the requirements that user interfaces and telecommunications products must meet if they are to be as intuitive as possible. Man-machine interfaces may have different requirements, but they play a key role in ensuring the user-friendliness of hardware and services. This is where researchers at Telekom Laboratories come in, developing approaches to functionality and design in the areas of:

  • Multimodal interfaces
  • Voice interfaces
  • Graphic and visual interfaces
  • Haptic interfaces
