As part of the implementation of "open innovation", the Deutsche Telekom AG is collaborating for decades with leading technology partner (manufacturers, network and service providers), research institutes and universities in the use of public funding programs.
Based on the DT’s research and innovation strategy this happens through participation in national calls (e.g. BMBF, BMWi) and in international research Framework Programmes (EU Framework Programs, EIT, Celtic-Plus, EURESCOM).
The results of these research programs will contribute to both the technological development of networks and services and to the establishment of global standards.
In particular on European level, Deutsche Telekom has a long tradition of participation in European research programs since the early 90’s contributing to RACE, ACTS, TAP, FP5 (IST) FP6, up to the current Framework Programme FP7.
